National Achievements of the Students Coached by Shree Uday V. Deshpande

In the year 1981, the National Mallakhamb Championships commenced. This competition was held at Maharajwada High School, Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh on 28 & 29 January 1981. Dattaram Dudam, Mangesh Ingle, Mahesh Kavitkar and Shreyas Mhaskar won Team Gold. Dattaram Dudam won Individual Gold. Mangesh Ingle won Individual Bronze.

The 2nd National Mallakhamb Championships held at Achyutananda Prasadik Jivajirao Vyayamshala, Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh on 6 & 7 February 1982. Dattaram Dudam and Mangesh Ingle won Team Gold as well as both won Individual Gold.

The 3rd National Mallakhamb Championships held at Shree Samartha Vyayam Mandir, Dadar, Mumbai, Maharashtra, on 28 & 29 January 1984. Dattaram Dudam and Mahesh Kavitkar won Team Gold. Dattaram Dudam also won Individual Gold.

The 4th National Mallakhamb Championships held at Jummadada Vyayam Mandir, Vadodara, Gujarat on 25 to 27 January 1985. Dattaram Dudam Rajesh Narkhede and Pankaj Jadhav won Team Gold each. Dattaram Dudam also won a Individual Gold. Pankaj Jadhav won Individual Bronze. This was first time for girls coached by Shree Uday V. Deshpande took part. The team Anjali Shinde, Lebana Penkar, Swati Agharkar, Deepali Athalye and Shubhada Atre. All of them got Team Gold. No one was left without an Individual medal. Anjali Shinde and Swati Agharkar bagged Individual Gold each. Lebana Penkar won Individual Silver. Deepali Athalye and Shubhada Atre bagged an Individual Bronze.

The 5th National Mallakhamb Championships held at Shree Laxmi Vyayam Mandir, Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, on 6 to 8 December 1985. Sujeet Bhave and Pankaj Jadhav won Team Gold each. Pankaj Jadhav won Individual Bronze. The girls’ team Swati Agharkar, Shubhada Atre, Varsha Marathe, Sangeeta Mhaskar and Kalpana Cholkar. All of them won Team Gold. No one was left without an Individual medal. Swati Agharkar won Individual Gold. Shubhada Atre and Varsha Marathe bagged Individual Silver each. Rest both won an Individual Bronze each.

 

The 6th National Mallakhamb Championships held at R. N. Shetty Stadium, Dharwad, Karnataka on 29 to 31 May 1987. Shantaram Joshi and Shantaram Bane won Team Gold each and both bagged an Individual Bronze. The girls’ team of Sangeeta Mhaskar, Kalyani Nigudkar, Nanda Shinde and Kaushika Shanbhag won Team Gold each. No one was left without an Individual medal. Kalyani Nigudkar bagged a Individual Gold. Sangeeta Mhaskar and Nanda Shinde bagged a Individual Silver each. Kaushika Shanbhag won an Individual Bronze.

The 7th National Mallakhamb Championships held at Municipal Stadium, Davangere, Karnataka on 21 to 23 July 1989. Shantaram Joshi, Rajesh Narkhede, Kunal Choksi, Pankaj Jadhav and Vinayak Todankar won Team Gold each. Kunal Choksi bagged Individual Gold. Shantaram Joshi, Pankaj Jadhav and Vinayak Todankar all won Individual Silver. Rajesh Narkhede bagged an Individual Bronze. The girls’ team of Mamta Oak, Shalaka Deshmukh, Nanda Shinde, Madhuri Deshpande and Chitra Khawale won Team Gold each. No one was left without an Individual medal. Mamta Oak, Shalaka Deshmukh, Nanda Shinde bagged an Individual Gold each. Madhuri Deshpande and Chitra Khawale bagged an Individual Bronze each.

The 8th National Mallakhamb Championships held at Maharashtriya Mandal, Pune, Maharashtra, on 28 to 30 December 1990. Shantaram Joshi, Kunal Choksi, Omkar Deshpande and Dhanesh Hedvikar won Team Gold. Kunal Choksi bagged Individual Gold. Shantaram Joshi and Omkar Deshpande won Individual Silver each. The girls’ team of Nanda Shinde, Shalaka Deshmukh, Madhuri Deshpande and Mamta Oak won Team Gold each. Nanda Shinde bagged Individual Gold. Shalaka Deshmukh won Individual Silver.

 

The 9th National Mallakhamb Championships held at Shree Laxmi Vyayam Mandir, Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh on 5 to 8 December 1991. Rajesh Narkhede, Kunal Choksi, Vinayak Todankar and Omkar Deshpande won Team Gold each. Rajesh Narkhede, Kunal Choksi and Vinayak Todankar bagged Individual Gold each. Omkar Deshpande won Individual Silver. The girls’ team of Asawari Gurav, Nanda Shinde, Shalaka Deshmukh, Rashmi Ganpule and Mamta Oak won Team Gold each. Asawari Gurav and Rashmi Ganpule bagged Individual Gold each. Shalaka Deshmukh won Individual Silver.

 

The 10th National Mallakhamb Championships were held at Vivekananda Kendra, Vivekanandapuram, Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu on 4 to 7 February 1993. Shantaram Joshi, Rajesh Narkhede, Kunal Choksi and Aditya Sahastrabuddhe won Team Gold each. Rajesh Narkhede and Kunal Choksi bagged Individual Gold each. Shantaram Joshi won an Individual Bronze. The girls’ team of Asawari Gurav, Sheetal Mainkar, Nanda Shinde, Chitra Khawale, Shalaka Deshmukh and Rashmi Ganpule won Team Gold each. Sheetal Mainkar, Chitra Khawale, Shalaka Deshmukh and Rashmi Ganpule bagged Individual Gold each. Asawari Gurav and Nanda Shinde won Individual Silver each.

 

The 11th National Mallakhamb Championships held at Shree Samartha Vyayam Mandir, Dadar, Mumbai, Maharashtra on 28 to 30 March 1994. Rajesh Narkhede, Kunal Choksi, Vinayak Todankar, Omkar Deshpande and Aditya Sahastrabuddhe won Team Gold each. Rajesh Narkhede and Kunal Choksi bagged Individual Gold each. Aditya Sahastrabuddhe won Individual Silver. The girls’ team of Sheetal Mainkar, Chitra Khawale, Reshma Dharmadhikari, Aditi Shete, Mamta Oak and Rashmi Ganpule won Team Gold each. Chitra Khawale and Aditi Shete bagged Individual Gold each. Reshma Dharmadhikari won Individual Silver.

 

The 12th National Mallakhamb Championships held at Kshirsagar Stadium, Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh on 30 January to 2 February 1995. Kunal Choksi, Vinayak Todankar and Aditya Sahastrabuddhe won Team Gold each. Kunal Choksi and Aditya Sahastrabuddhe bagged Individual Gold each. Vinayak Todankar won Individual Silver. The girls’ team of Asawari Gurav, Sheetal Mainkar, Chitra Khawale, Reshma Dharmadhikari, Aditi Shete, Mamta Oak, Rashmi Ganpule and Deepashri Todankar won Team Gold each Sheetal Mainkar and Chitra Khawale bagged Individual Gold each. Reshma Dharmadhikari and Mamta Oak won Individual Silver each.

The 13th National Mallakhamb Championships held at Shree Samartha Vyayam Mandir, Dadar, Mumbai, Maharashtra on 28 to 31 March 1996. Kunal Choksi, Vinayak Todankar, Aditya Sahastrabuddhe and Dhiraj Jadhav won Team Gold each. Kunal Choksi and Aditya Sahastrabuddhe won Individual Silver each. The girls’ team of Asawari Gurav, Sheetal Mainkar, Chitra Khawale, Reshma Dharmadhikari, Aditi Shete and Mamta Oak won Team Gold each. Sheetal Mainkar and Chitra Khawale bagged Individual Gold each. Reshma Dharmadhikari won Individual Silver.

The 14th National Mallakhamb Championships held at Shahaji Raje Bhosale Kreeda Sankul, Andheri, Mumbai, Maharashtra on 28 to 30 March 1997. Kunal Choksi, Vinayak Todankar, Omkar Deshpande, Aditya Sahastrabuddhe and Aditya Deshpande won Team Gold each. Kunal Choksi and Aditya Sahastrabuddhe won Individual Gold each. The girls’ team of Sheetal Mainkar, Reshma Dharmadhikari, Aditi Shete, Rashmi Ganpule, Aditi Deshpande and Seema Kelkar won Team Gold each. Sheetal Mainkar bagged Individual Gold. Reshma Dharmadhikari and Aditi Deshpande won Individual Silver each.

15th National Mallakhamb Championships did not take place due to some reason. 

The 16th National Mallakhamb Championships held at Mudhoji Club, Phaltan, Satara, Maharashtra on 27 to 29 March 1999. Kunal Choksi, Aditya Sahastrabuddhe, Sankalp Choudhary, Aditya Deshpande and Nakul Choksi won Team Gold each. Aditya Deshpande won Individual Gold. Sankalp Chaudhari won Individual Silver. Kunal Choksi and Aditya Sahastrabuddhe both won Individual Bronze. The girls’ team of Sheetal Mainkar, Mamta Oak and Aditi Deshpande won Team Gold each. Sheetal Mainkar bagged Individual Gold. Mamta Oak and Aditi Deshpande won Individual Silver each.

The 17th National Mallakhamb Championships held at Chhatrapati Shivaji Stadium, Sangli, Maharashtra on 11 to 13 February 2000. Kunal Choksi, Aditya Sahastrabuddhe and Nakul Choksi won Team Gold each. Aditya Sahastrabuddhe won Individual Gold. Kunal Choksi won Individual Silver. The girls’ team of Sheetal Mainkar, Mamta Oak, Rashmi Ganpule, Aditi Deshpande, Poonam Deshmukh and Bhagyashri Sawant won Team Gold each. Rashmi Ganpule bagged a Individual Gold. Poonam Deshmukh won Individual Silver.

 

The 18th National Mallakhamb Championships held at Shree Laxmi Vyayam Mandir, Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh on 30 December 2000 to 1 January 2001. Kunal Choksi and Nakul Choksi won Team Gold. Nakul Choksi won Individual Gold. The girls’ team of Mamta Oak, Rashmi Ganpule, Aditi Deshpande, Seema Kelkar, Nikita Vedak and Bhagyashri Sawant won Team Gold. Seema Kelkar won Individual Gold. Rashmi Ganpule and Aditi Deshpande bagged Individual Silver each.

 

The 19th National Mallakhamb Championships held at Railway Stadium, Bhusawal, Maharashtra on 23 to 25 March 2002. Kunal Choksi, Aditya Sahastrabuddhe and Hitesh Sangale won Team Gold each. Kunal Choksi won Individual Silver. The girls’ team of Aditi Deshpande, Bhagyashri Sawant and Apurva Surve won Team Gold each. Apurva Surve bagged Individual Gold. Aditi Deshpande won Individual Silver. 

The 20th National Mallakhamb Championships held at Gandhi Maidan, Satara, Maharashtra on 12 to 14 January 2003. The girls’ team of Aditi Deshpande, Seema Kelkar and Neha Bandivadekar won Team Gold each. Aditi Deshpande bagged Individual Gold. 

The 21st National Mallakhamb Championships held at Govt. Secondary School, Railway, Bharatpur, Rajasthan on 21 to 23 December 2003. Nakul Choksi and Hitesh Sangale won Team Gold each. Hitesh Sangale bagged Individual Gold. Nakul Choksi won Individual Bronze. The girls’ team of Aditi Deshpande, Seema Kelkar, Poonam Deshmukh, Bhagyashri Sawant, Neha Kushe and Apurva Surve won Team Gold each. Bhagyashri Sawant bagged Individual Gold. Aditi Deshpande won Individual Silver.

The 22nd National Mallakhamb Championships held at Shree Samartha Vyayam Mandir, Dadar, Mumbai, Maharashtra on 11 to 13 February 2005. Nakul Choksi, Hitesh Sangale, Swapnil Khese and Mehank Palkar won Team Gold each. Hitesh Sangale bagged Individual Silver. Nakul Choksi won Individual Bronze. The girls’ team of Aditi Deshpande, Poonam Deshmukh, Neha Bandivadekar and Apurva Surve won Team Gold each. Aditi Deshpande bagged Individual Gold. Poonam Deshmukh won Individual Silver.

The 23rd National Mallakhamb Championships were held at Shree Guru Angaddev College, Khaddoor Sahib, Amritsar, Punjab on 16 to 18 January 2006. The girls’ team of Poonam Deshmukh, Neha Bandivadekar and Apurva Surve won Team Gold each. Poonam Deshmukh won Individual Silver.

The 24th National Mallakhamb Championships were held at Ellen Sharma Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Shollinganallur, Chennai on 2nd to 4th February 2007. Nakul Choksi, Hitesh Sangale, Mehank Palkar and Aditya Mhaskar won Team Gold each. Mehank Palkar bagged Individual Silver. Hitesh Sangale bagged Individual Bronze. The girls’ team of Apurva Surve and Yogita Madkaikar won Team Gold each. Yogita Madkaikar won Individual Silver.

The 25th National Mallakhamb Championships were held at 25 National Mallakhamb Championships, Mardol Grounds, Mardol, Tehsil : Ponda, Dist. : South on 26 - 28 November 2008. Hitesh Sangale and Aditya Mhaskar won Team Gold each. The girls’ team of Apurva Surve Neha Kushe and Poonam Surve won Team Gold each. Apurva Surve won Individual Silver.
